The Financial Services Representative (FSR) Program is designed to introduce FSRs to the key concepts of financial guidance, financial planning and personal lending. A new FSR following this program is quickly able to identify members’ financial needs, creating opportunities to grow share of wallet.
If you are a new Financial Services Representative or an FSR looking to expand your knowledge base, this program is for you. The FSR Development program is a three-tiered training program designed specifically for Financial Service Representatives working in the credit union system. The curriculum will develop the foundational, applied and advanced skills needed in the role, and leads to an FSR accreditation in partnership with Dalhousie University.

Tier one of the FSR program was developed in conjunction with Manitoba’s Assiniboine Credit Union, Steinbach Credit Union, Westoba Credit Union and Access Credit Union. These credit unions provided the seed funding and guidance to quickly bring the program to market.
Tier one consists of 4 parts:
Product and Service Knowledge Assessment: Before you begin the FSR program you complete an assessment of your foundational financial knowledge to ensure learning is focused on appropriate areas.
Spotting Quality Referrals: This 60-minute eLearning module helps you understand financial products and planning in order to make quality referrals to specialists. Note that a province-specific course is available for Manitoba.
Core Credit Knowledge: This 60-minute eLearning course introduces you to the core concepts of lending and walks you through the roles and responsibilities of the position.
FSR Start Series: Consisting of 6 modules, this final component of the FSR foundational program provides you with the knowledge you need to recommend appropriate products and services to members.
