Spots available for Each One, Teach One coach training this spring

Each One, Teach One (EOTO) is growing into a national financial literacy program and a great opportunity to bring credit union led financial literacy to your community. Each One, Teach One is an innovative financial literacy program that trains employees of at credit unions to deliver basic financial skills workshops in community settings.

To offer EOTO financial literacy workshops in local communities, credit union staff are required to attend a three-day training course. Once complete, they will then be able to train others at their credit union to deliver workshops as well.

In 2016, more than 100 credit union staff from 60 different credit unions and regional centrals were trained.

There are a total of 12 workshops that credit union staff can currently deliver, ranging from basic budgeting to managing debt to better understanding loans and debt. Other five topics will be shared with credit unions shortly. These topics include home readiness and preventing seniors’ financial abuse.

What’s included in all training opportunities:
To recover the costs of catering and printing for each session, a fee of $225 will be charged.
This includes:
  • Three full days of training led by Vancity Each One, Teach One facilitators.
  • Each One, Teach One binder with all Each One, Teach One workshops.
  • Password access to a comprehensive website with all materials to deliver Each One, Teach One workshops.
  • Training manual for coaches to lead further subsequent Each One, Teach One training sessions.
  • Enrollment in a newsletter providing timely updates to Each One, Teach One training material.
  • Coffee/tea, lunch and breaks for all three training days.
  • Attendees will be responsible to cover transportation and accommodation costs. Attendees at EOTO training must be an employee of a Canadian Credit Union Association member credit union or regional Central.
